What Gatekeeper is

Gatekeeper is a tool for creators and sponsors. A creator uploads a deliverable, the sponsor reviews a watermarked preview through a private link, signs the creator's terms and pays into escrow, and the clean files unlock. By using Gatekeeper you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

Accounts

Creators need an account and a verified email address. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity on your account. Sponsors use a private link and need no account; anyone who has the link can act as the sponsor, so creators should send it only to the sponsor and can rotate it at any time.

Deals, signing and escrow

• The deal terms are written by the creator. Gatekeeper is not a party to the deal and does not give legal advice or judge disputes.
• A sponsor's typed name, agreement and IP address are recorded as a click-to-sign record of acceptance. Whether that is enforceable depends on your law.
• The sponsor pays the agreed amount through Paystack. Once funded, the clean files unlock for the sponsor.
• Funds are released to the creator when the sponsor confirms, or automatically 7 days after funding. If the creator's payout details are missing or the payout fails, the money stays in escrow until it can be released.
• Refunds and chargebacks are handled by the payment provider; a payment that arrives in the wrong state is held for manual review.

Plans, fees and billing

The Solo plan is free, with up to three active deals and a 5% platform fee on each funded deal. The Pro plan is $19 per month or $190 per year, with unlimited active deals, a 2% platform fee, custom watermark text and 4K previews. The fee on a deal is set by your plan when the sponsor funds it. Subscriptions are billed in US dollars by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record, and renew until cancelled. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the paid period. Payment processing fees charged by Paystack apply to deal payments.

Payouts

Payouts are available to creators in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, to a bank account or mobile money wallet you control. You are responsible for giving correct payout details and for any taxes on your income.

Content and acceptable use

• You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to store it, create watermarked previews and show it to the people you share it with.
• Do not upload anything unlawful, infringing or harmful, do not try to remove watermarks, access files you are not entitled to, or interfere with the service.
• We may suspend accounts that break these rules or put others at risk.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Gatekeeper running but provide it as is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, for disputes between creators and sponsors, or for failures of third-party payment, storage or email providers. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your account

You can delete your account from Settings at any time, subject to the rules for open deals described in the privacy policy. We may end the service or an account with notice.
